Francesca Alaimo

Francesca is an Italian British artist based in London.

I am a self-taught visual artist who uses mixed media and photography. I create interventions on paper through the manipulation and transformation of materials and images, using prints, soft pastels, oils, acrylics and wax

My work is centred on intersectional feminism, queer identity and existentialism; it explores shame, visibility, vulnerability and courage, starting a discourse on gender non-conformity, radical existence and identity validation from a shifted perspective and a place of questioning.

At the core of my artistic practice is the belief that by disclosing our differences, we create links with those who share our experiences but don’t feel validated. The artists’ skill empowers the viewer to embrace their vulnerability and share who they are, initiating a contagious wave of (self)acceptance and (self)love.
